About Fr. Nathan Hastings, Chaplain
Father Nathan Hastings '15, '20 MDiv joined the University of St. Thomas as a full-time chaplain in 2026. He grew up in Inver Grove Heights. After high school, he served with NET Ministries before attending the University of Minnesota. While there, he was studying computer engineering and was very involved with St. Paul's Outreach. As part of his vocational discernment, he transferred to St. Thomas in 2013 to attend the St. John Vianney College Seminary. After graduating with his undergrad, he continued his formation at the Saint Paul Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 2020. Fr. Nathan served for two years at Our Lady of Grace in Edina, three years at Holy Spirit in St. Paul and was most recently serving at St. Michael in St. Michael.
Fr. Nathan is excited to accompany our students in their faith journeys. Whether someone is already intentionally living out their faith and looking to grow deeper, or simply has questions about or struggles with the Catholic faith, Fr. Nathan desires to meet students where they're at and help them encounter Christ.
